It is the best route to use JR and rental car to avoid the heavy traffic jam in Chuo-Do highway.
At the front of Kofu station, you can rent a car for around 9 hours and go to Mugikusa Toge pass.
In the driving route until the arriving to the Mugikusa-Toge parking lot, you can enjoy the nice view of Yatsugatake-mountaines, Mt. Fuji and the South Alps (Mt. Kai-Komagatake).
Kita-Yatsugatake is so famous location for its beautiful mosses near the trail and the calm atomosphere which the deep forest, lakes and the weather have created.
Shirakoma-ike pond has the sad legend which the young lovers comes into the lake since her father did not accept their marriage.
From on top of Takami-ishi rock, you can enjoy the 360 degrees nice view, including Mt. Asama, Chuo-Alps and Tateshina-Yama.
