Mito, Kairakuen is one of the three Japanese most beautiful gardens. In particular, the plum flower season, many tourists are enjoying the bright scene of 3000 pcs of plum tree. . It is located in Mito, Ibaraki prefecture and it takes only 1hour 30minites from Tokyo by JR train and around 3 hours from Tokyo by car driving.
This garden has been made by Mr. Nariakira Tokugawa, who was the feudal lord of Mito domain. Due to economical issue of Mito domain, they used the distant scene of Senba-lake as a pond of the Kairakuen garden.
Mito-Kodokan is the old school for Samurai in feudal domain of Mito in Edo period. It was constructed in 1841 by Mr. Nariakira Tokugawa.
Mito domain has intention for the student to make Kodokan for study and kairakuen for the rest.
