At the Fukuoka or Nagasaki airport, you need to rent a car to go round the west kyushu for 3-days trip.

Day1: Tokyo-Fukuoka airport, visit Nagasaki and Stay in Nagasaki or Shimabara area.
Day2: Visit Hara castle, use Ferry boat to Amakusa and visit Sakitsu, then go to Kumamoto.
Day3: Visit Tabaruzaka, Mietsu and Yoshinogari and go back to Tokyo.

**Ruin of Hara castle; It is located in Shimabara peninsula and known as the fort where Shiro Amakusa (1632?-1638) and the people fought with Tokugawa shogunate at the Shimabara’s Riot (1637-1638). He was the leader of the riot.
It is designated as the World heritage site in 2018.

****In 2016, Kumamoto area buildings have serious damage by the huge scale earthquake. Repair work for Kumamoto castle is so interesting to see from the new walkway which was build in around 15m height near the catsle buildings.
*****It was the Hard-fought field in Seinan war (1877), named 'Tabaruzaka'.
Satsuma rebellion 'Seinan war' was the last civil war between the Meiji government and the Satsuma descendant of a samurai. A bullet mark house is well maintained and reserved in the memorial park.

******Mietsu Naval dry dock has been built by Saga domain in 1858 and designated as a World heritage site in 2015.
It is well reserved and interesting for the geotechnical engineers and you may enjoy the presentation by virtual realty goggle.

*******Yoshinogari ruins and memorial park is the huge national park with the area of 104ha.
In BC5 to BC3 named Yayoi period, we have started the rice cultivation which was transfered from Korean peninslua.
You will enjoy to see many artifacts and reproduced old buildings and warehouses in the park.

Nagasaki atomic bomb memorial park, Urakami Cathedral which is very near at the epicenter, It has been rebuilt after the war but the old one had huge damages.
Dejima area in Nagasaki was the limited open trading port in Edo period. Now it was reused as the deck restaurants area. You may enjoy to walk in the chinese town.
In Shimabara peninsla, many hot spring and golf resort are waiting for you. In Hara castle, there are many stories. The island is named 'Dango-jima' which means that the people both in Shimabara area and in Amakusa area has discussed about the war before the Shimabara's riot.
Around 38,000 people in the rebel army has beed dead in the castle. Shiro Amakusa's statue and the ferry boat from Kuchinotsu to Oniike port in Amakusa island.
Ohe church and the graves with the christian Japanese combined rare style. Sakitsu church is well reserved.
