Odawara castle was made by Yoriharu Omori in 1417 and after that it was the base of Hojyo cran till the war with Toyotomi government in 1590.
Ishigaki-Yama Castle was placed by Hideyoshi Toyotomi who was the first 'Kanpakuto' in 1585 to fight with local warriors, Hojyo cran who stayed in Odawara Castle.
It has been recorded that the castle was constructed very quickly like only 80days and it causes to the surrender of Hojyo cran.
From Odawara station, we need to walk up the hill around 2 hours and reach to Ishigaki castle. Ishigaki means the stone wall. The site is little ruined but still remains old atmosphere. Taiko Hideyoshi looked at the Odawara castle everyday and think about how to fight in 1590.
After the site, you may go down to Nyuta-station of Hakone-Tozan railway, and move to Hakone-Yumoto station to enjoy a one day Hot spring bath (Hotel Okada).
In November, you may enjoy the flower festival of chrysanthemum. You can take photo with old soldiers in front of the Odawara castle. Nice view! to the Ishigaki-Yama Castle from Odawara Castle.
