# Takatoh ruined castle is famous for its many beatiful cherry blossoms in early April.
Takatoh domain was governed by Hoshina, Torii and Naitoh until the end of Edo period.
In 1859, the last feudal lord, Yorinao Naitoh has established the Shintoku-kan (School) to educate the sun of the samirai.

# Takatoh Stone mason were very active to make a stone buddhas in the area and also in other area in Japan.
You can see the typical stone buddhas in Kempuku-ji temple.

# Suwa-taisya shrine is one of the oldest shrine in Japan.
Every seven years the Wood fallen festival is held near the shrine.

In Syakadoh service area, you can see Mt. Kitadake (3193m) and Southern-Alps. At Tsuetsuku Toge, there is nice cafe and you may enjoy the nice view of Mt. Yatsugatake (2899m) and Lake Suwa.

After enter into Takatoh area, then you may see Chuo-Alps, Mt. Kiso-Kogatake (2956m).
