Mitake-Mitake Sanguchi by Bus (15min)
Mitake Sanguchi-Mitake San by Cable car (10min)
Mt. Mitake-Tsurutsuru Onsen (2hr30min, by walk)
Tsurutsuru onsen-Musashi Itsukaichi by Bus (20min)
Musashi Itsukaichi-Tokyo by JR line (1.5hours)

Record
It is easy to approarch to Mt. Mitake (929m) by JR-line and cable-car from Tokyo, so many hiker are visiting in every holidays even in winter season.
You need to buy lunch box at the convenience store near JR Mitake station, since it is impossible to buy on top of Mt. Mitake.

Mt. Mitake top area is a sacred space with many shirines and inns for pilgrims from mainly Kanto area in Japan.

Trail from Mt. Mitake to 'Tsurutsuru onsen(hot spring)' via Mt. Hinode(902m) is so nice and comfortable due to almost it's downslope and nice view of deep Tokyo mountains.
In the summit of Mt. Hinode, you can enjoy 360 degree view including Tokyo's high rised buildings.

The hot spring in Tsurutsuru onsen contains the alchalin mineral, therefore you may feel smooth touch, which means 'Tsurutsuru' in Japanese.

This one day hike is compact and close to Tokyo, but there are big shrines, cable cars, good adequate trails with English written boards and nice hot spring, so that you will feel fruitful holiday!
